The Pocus Manifesto

Ein Plädoyer für den Einsatz Ultraschalls in der Alltagsroutine. Wie es sich für ein Manifest (lat manifestus – handgreiflich gemacht, offenbart) gehört, wird hier sehr eindringlich und nachvollziehbar illustriert und erklärt, weshalb das Zeitalter des Ultraschalls gerade in der Hausarztpraxis erst angefangen hat. Ein Paradigmenwechsel ist im Gange. Das kleine Büchlein ist sehr einfach zu lesen und bestens zu empfehlen.

‘Why do we continue to guess what diseases reside within the chest when we can look inside and know for sure?’ asks internal medicine physician Dr. Larry Istrail in this poignant and persuasive manifesto.

Wirklich ein sehr empfehlenswertes Buch. Paperback, ca 450 Seiten, inkl. Aktivierungscode für das eBook.  Preis: ca 90 USD
Sehr gut aufgebaut, kurz und bündig werden alle sonographisch relevanten Gebiete regionen vorgestellt – inkl. Horizonterweiterung für den “durchschnittlichen Hausarzt”.
Meinerseits wusste ich nicht, wie einfach eine Amotio mit dem Ultraschall diagnostiziert werden kann/könnte. Nicht, dass ich nun zum Augen-Ultraschaller werde. ABER: das Buch ist eine Illustration dafür, dass man – ausser Luft und Knochen – alles ultraschallen kann und insofern ein Motivator.
